Let’s get to know each other
Hello & welcome! My name is Katie K, I'm the heart behind the camera.
I’m based in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. I have always been drawn to the way a single photograph can hold onto a memory forever. That's why I do what I do.
For me, photography isn't just about pretty pictures—it's about connection. It's about freezing the laughter you never want to forget, the milestones you've worked so hard to reach, and the love you want to carry with you for a lifetime.
My goal is simple:
To document genuine connection and turn everyday moments into lasting memories.
Whether I'm documenting a wedding day, capturing a senior about to step into their future, or creating timeless family portraits, my goal is always the same. I want to create photographs that feel authentic—images that remind you not just of how it looked, but how it felt.
I have been a photographer since 2014
What started as just a love for taking pictures has grown into a decade-long passion and career that I am so grateful for. Between people trusting me to document their most precious moments and the flexibility I have to be able to stay home with my children and to work from home (for the most part), is something I will never take for granted. The Lord has truly blessed me with this opportunity and I am thankful.
About me
I am 27 years old and married to my best friend, Trever. He's your typical southern boy. He works hard, does the truck things, and loves Jesus. We got married back in March 2018. We have two beautiful children, Everly and Weston. Everly is our blue-eyed butterfly sunshine queen. She's my girly-pop bestie who loves all things makeup, shopping, pink, and glitter. She is sweet, sassy, and cheerful. She brings joy and heart into everything she does. Weston is our tender-hearted guy with a love for monster trucks. He came into this world causing chaos and hasn't slowed down since. He's wild, adventurous, and full of energy. But underneath it all, he is deeply caring and compassionate. If someone's upset, he's the first to notice and the first to comfort.
My heart & home are in two places
Originally I am from the mountains of Southwest Virginia, but I have called the Lowcountry of South Carolina home since 2010 when my dad took a pastoring position at a church called Lighthouse Church, which is wild because if my dad had never took the job, Trever and I would have never met and we would have never created this beautiful little life of ours.
Even though I am forever grateful we moved to SC and the opportunities it gave me, the mountains of VA will always and forever hold a special place in my heart. It's my first home.
What I do outside of photography
When I am not behind the camera, I stay busy mommin', wifey-ing, and doing the dang thing, but I stay busy in other ways too. I earned my bachelor's degree in Marketing Management (in just 2 years!!) and I love finding way to use it in everyday life. I'm part of Kind Fitness, where I manage the social media, workout, and cheer on our community of women. At my church, I serve as the toddler's ministry leader, the dance team instructor, and I sometimes work with our youth group. Faith and community are a huge part of who I am and I love being part of spaces where people can feel encouraged and celebrated.
A little more about me
I'd describe myself as a talker, outgoing, sarcastic, and a list making queen. I love people who are real and genuine, and I'll always choose deep conversations over small talk. I laugh often (and usually loudly), and I am both a dreamer and a doer who believes in chasing big dreams and making them happen.
My friends and family will tell you I have tough love and that I am a little bit mean. They're not wrong. I will gladly do the Heimlich maneuver on you or perform CPR, but then I will yell at you for choking and almost dying. I'm not the type to smother you with hugs or mushy words, but I'd give you my kidney without hesitation. More than that, I'll be the first to show up when you need someone in your corner. To me, love looks like loyalty, presence, and action than anything else. They speak louder than the fluff.
Life, and being a photographer, has a way of putting me in the most random places and situations, but I just roll with it. I have never said no to an idea or adventure. I am literally down for whatever, like going to a pretty sketch location, or going along with an off the wall idea, or hiking through tall brush in snake infested woods.. ok wait, maybe not that. That's where I draw the line.
